Who is top-grossing actor in 1396?

Hamid Farokh-Nejad and Mohammad-Javad Ezzati have been named top-grossing actors for the last Persian calendar year of 1396.

According to a Wednesday media report accumulating data on box office gross of Iranian films, Farokh-Nejad  and Ezzati ranked in first and second place respectively amongst top-grossing actors in the last Persian year.

They easily won the titles as other contenders raked in quite less than these top-grossing actors of the year.

The highest-ranking actor starred in 'Patrol 2’ by Saeed Soheili and ‘The Good, the Bad, the Corny’ by Peyman Ghasem-Khani. His films grossed over 360 billion rials.

The first runner-up for the title who appeared in three films last year experienced a narrow loss as the veteran actor edged pass Ezzati. 

This comes as a local media report recently unveiled a 5-item list of top-grossing flicks on the eve of the Persian New year.

The ranking for the flicks was done as per screening schedules in Iranian cinemas during the Persian calendar year of 1396 ending March, 21, 2018.

Saman Moqaddam’s offering ‘Sperm Whale 2’ topped the list with a box office of over 209 billion rials followed by Manouchehr Hadi’s ‘Wing Mirror’ and ‘Patrol 2’ .
